When I remember the town of Mikulov
an ancient Chinese poem comes to my mind
the title and name of the author of which
I have long ago forgotten...

I used to live in this land once
but I don’t know when.
I have only returned
to my homeland.
Trembling sallows, old ladies,
sleeping by the water,
when they saw me, they started
shaking with joy.

And since you have been good, here’s one more ...

In these dull, heavy, cruel days
I drink as much as I can,
drinking to dumb the deafness of times,
in order to save my soul.
Wherever the light of God’s sun can reach,
they have always been drinking, they drink and they will always drink
everybody knows that everything drinks! –
And I am supposed to stay sober?!
