Ondřej Čech
born on June 8, 1985 in Pelhřimov, he lives and works in Prague and Humpolec. He attented the Faculty of Humanities of Prague’s Charles University between 2005 and 2009 when he a joined a theoretical studies programme at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague. There, he took courses at the K.O.V. (concept–object–meaning) studio of Eva Eisler and Aleksandra Vajd’s and Hynek Alt’s photography studio. Ondřej Čech’s work explores spatial creations and the architecture of exhibitions, with an overlap into the theory of architecture. He has recently also worked with the medium of photography in its variousforms. Photography was also Ondřej’s choice at the Mikulov symposium; through photographic record, he concentraded on the theme of water surfaces, typical for the region around Mikulov. In his creations, water represents the language; its physical features, as well as possible layers of meaning form a field for a concrete grasp of the theme.
