Last summer, the Mikulov chateau once again welcomed a number of Czech and foreign artists participating in the Mikulov Art Symposium "dílna". The 22nd edition of the event, organized by the town of Mikulov and the Regional Museum in Mikulov, took place between July 11 and August 8.
The symposium’s curator, the painter Oldřich Tichý, invited to participate in the event the painters Martin Čada, Luděk Filipský and Vladimír Franz, the painter and graphic designer Mikoláš Axmann and the photographer Peter Župník (France). Ivan Neumann served as the theoretician of the symposium while the young Mikulov artist František Zelinka worked as a technical assistant.
The "dílna" was officially launched on July 11 in the Sala Terrena of the chateau where the individual artists presented their work. The event continued in the chateau’s upper courtyard with a concert by the band Jazz Petit Mikulov and the big band Krásné nové stroje. The audience also had a chance to see a photo exhibition by Jindřich Štreit.
A public organ concert entitled Intersection by Vladimír Franz, held in the Dietrichstein Tomb on July 25, was extraordinary experience for everyone.
The artefacts created during the symposium were presented by the authors at the final exhibition of the 22nd "dílna" on August 8. A concert by the Junior Band held at the chateau’s upper courtyard underlined the festive atmosphere of the event. The exhibition of the works created at the 22nd Mikulov Art Symposium "dílna" was held at the Mikulov chateau until September 30.
