I accepted the invitation to the symposium “dílna” with doubts about my own capacity although I could have certain confidence in the specification of a mirror project at the Brno Fair Grounds that I was thinking I would then donate to the Mikulov gallery. The vague form of my participation blended with the incredibly exceptional environment of almost a seaside town in the intertanglement of historically fantastic and almost theatrical scenes to the very centre designated for the actual work, to the inside of the chateau with its mysterious guts marbled with rocks. The modest space allocated to Nikos and me gave away close relations of joint intentions. I observed his natural, spontaneous activity in drawings, paintings, and the construction of a demanding sculpture of bronze and stone. The project I was working on was supposed to follow, trace and collage the surrounding environment, capture the passing traces and appearances of visitors by mirroring them. In the end, I decided to keep our common intentions by drawing around the touches, motions and situations of the silhouettes in the authentic presence of Nikos Armutidis and Martin Mainer, who was working in the neighbouring studio (I only admired his pastel paintings in their totality at the final installation). May these touches fill and keep in the Mikulov environment the mysteries that I endured at the very beginning of the Symposium. I am grateful to the organizers, especially to the friendly activities of Nikos Armutidis for supporting me in such a mysterious environment.
