Summer attracts many artists to Mikulov. For a few summer days, the chateau leaves its rooms to the participants of the Mikulov Art Symposium, entitled “dílna”. Each year, significant sculptors and painters come here to enrich with their works the unique collection of contemporary visual art. Each year, the ancient town with its typical summer atmosphere also welcomes the participants of the International Guitar Festival who come from all over the world. The walls and parks of the historic town turn each year into concert halls and remarkable galleries. The hundreds-of-years long tradition of the Virgin Mary Pilgrimage to the church of St Sebastian on the Holly Hill is complemented with the new tradition of the Kampanila International Choirs Festival. General public is happy to visit the festive concerts in the churches and the chateau of Mikulov. Among the most renowned wine-making events are definitely the traditional autumn Harvest Festival in Mikulov with a rich cultural and social programme.
