Kristýna Kašparová
Kristýna Kašparová (1992) is at the beginning of her artistic career and her work does not, for the time being, show signs of a concrete programme. As a student of the intermedia art studio at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Ostrava University, she mainly focuses on performance. She mostly emphasizes interpersonal interaction as the driving mechanism of action. In her studio installation An Aesthetic Boundary (2012), for example, the viewers became actors who directed the author’s striptease by camping their food. In her performance Grapes are not Wine the following year, Kašparová attempted to stimulate activity in public space by inviting the inhabitants of Ostrava to sing together. Her successful creations in different media include material paintings from colour wax (2013) and the installation Addiction made of adapted stuffed toys hanging freely in space (2013). This experience was also the base for her work at the Mikulov Art Symposium. Mikulov was also where she has had her only independent exhibition so far. She participated in the workshops by Marian Palla and Petr Lysáček as part of the Colours of Ostrava festival (2012).
